Steaming without an electrical appliance? Our three-part steamer has been designed exactly for this and cooks vegetables, pastas, fish or meat tenderly and gently with the help of the steamer insert which has openings in the bottom to let the steam through. Steaming allows you to preserve many of the food’s vitamins and nutrients during the cooking process. The hot steam prevents the ingredients from leaching or drying out. The food remains in its natural state which means that the flavours are more intense. You also don’t need to add as much fat, salt or spices as the natural flavour of the ingredients is preserved.
The versatile steamer can also be used to defrost and heat up food and to sterilise objects.
The steamer is square and does not have any handles which makes it easy to store, even in kitchens where there is little storage space. The transparent glass lid lets you keep an eye on the cooking process.
Enamel is made from iron fused with glass at high temperatures, therefore it’s made from natural raw materials.
Our enamel cookware is suitable for use with all types of cookers (gas, electric, ceramic, induction and even open flame). Thanks to the iron core, the heat is conducted quickly and is then retained. This ensures sustainable, energy-efficient cooking.
The non-porous, smooth, glass surface guarantees perfect hygiene, as it’s flavour-neutral, prevents bacteria growth and is easy to clean. When used and cared for properly, our enamel cookware can provide years of cooking enjoyment and will maintain its characteristic glossy appearance.
Not only can the steamer be used to cook vegetables gently, it’s also great for cooking Asian dumplings, chicken or fish fillets and much more. The steamer can also be used to defrost deep-frozen foods and to gently heat up leftovers. The versatile piece of equipment can also sterilise dummies, glasses and more.
This is how it works: Fill the steamer with enough water and then place the food in the steamer insert. The food should not lie in the water. Then put the lid on. As soon as the water is boiling, lower the temperature a little.
Always keep the steamer closed during the cooking process so that the steam does not escape but can condense on the lid. This way the food is kept moist and tender and no energy is lost.
Always wear oven gloves when opening the lid to protect your hands against hot steam.
