FRYING

Frying works extremely well in enamel pans.

There are five golden pan rules for the crispy result to turn out perfect and prevent the pan from overheating.

FRYING AND ROASTING IN THE ENAMEL PAN

Enamel pans are all-rounders amongst pans with long life and very popular with cooking enthusiasts. They are suitable for all fried dishes from fast browning to slow braising. The heat is retained evenly throughout the pan in both the base and sides and is so good that the heat can be turned down quickly.

The pan base is always slightly curved inwards, as it expands after heating and then rests flat on the hob. Glass and iron expand differently with enamel (= glass on iron). It is therefore important to start the roasting process at a medium and not the highest heat and then turn up the heat. This allows both materials to expand evenly. You can find out more about this in the video.

THE FIVE GOLDEN PAN RULES

for better taste and long life of your pan

1) Select and use correctly
  • Select the correct pan for the dish and number of people.
  • Adhere to the instructions for use for the stove and pan.
  • Before the first use remove the stickers and rinse carefully.

2) Heat up in stages and do not overheat
  • Select the hob with an appropriate diameter, and never a hob that is too small. NEVER heat the pan without any contents.
  • Spread fat evenly and heat in stages, NEVER start with the highest stage. With induction stoves, do NOT use the boost function. (This is exclusively intended for quick heating of large quantities of liquid)
  • The right temperature has been reached when the fat moves like a streak in the pan. The optimum operating temperature is around 220°C according to the fat used. In the case of steam formation, throttle the heat level immediately.

3) Observe constantly
  • NEVER leave the frying process unattended. Oil can catch fire. (in the case of an oil fire, NEVER extinguish with water), pan can become overheated, the food can burn.

4) Clean by hand
  • We recommend cleaning by hand using our enamel care cleaner and the right cleaning equipment so you can enjoy your pan for a long time to come. Find out more under Use and Care.

5) Store carefully
  • Hang up, or insert kitchen paper if stacking.
