INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Enamel is glass on iron, an ideal kitchen material that combines the two materials’ positive qualities perfectly: the iron core conducts and retains heat, the non-porous glass surface is easy to clean and preserves the flavours.

Please follow our instructions for use carefully to enjoy the enamel product(s) of your choice for a long time to come.

FIRST USE
  • Please remove all foils and stickers from the cookware. Adhesive residues can easily be removed with cooking oil.
  • To remove any impurities, fill in boiling water with a dash of vinegar and let it soak. Afterwards rinse with clear water and dry the cookware well.
  • Read the instructions for use for the cookware and the stove carefully.

Ongoing use
  • Make sure that the cookware does not overheat. The ideal operating temperature for healthy cooking is 220°C. Start the cooking process at a medium heat and then turn it up. Also never heat up the cookware without any contents. Overheating may cause the base to become deformed or damage the hob due to melting.
  • Enamelled handles and lids heat up quickly, because the core is made of iron. It is highly recommended to use pot holders. We have developed a leather, high-quality pot holder with rubber studs for this purpose.
  • Never place the heated enamel cookware in cold water. Cracks can occur due to the temperature shock. So always leave the cookware to cool down a bit before cleaning it.
  • Enamel is scratch- and cut-resistant. Using knives, forks or kitchen aids you can cut or remove food without causing any harm.
  • Avoid impact with hard objects/floors or heavy tapping with metal kitchen aids on the edge of the lid – this can lead to damages.
  • Always lift cookware onto hobs and do not slide. Scratches and marks could occur. Always clean the base of the cookware and the hob thoroughly before cleaning.
  • If the enamel should flake off on the outside, in spite of due care, this is only a cosmetic damage. You can continue using the cookware without any problems. Only in the case of flaking on the inside, we recommend a replacement, as optimal hygiene is no longer guaranteed.
