Steam cooking made easy – our three-part steamer allows for gentle cooking of vegetables, pasta, fish, or meat without the need for a separate electric device. Thanks to the steam insert with steam openings, the ingredients are cooked tenderly and deliciously without losing vitamins and nutrients. The hot steam prohibits leaching and drying out of the food, requiring less fat, salt, and spices. The steamer is suitable not only for steaming but also for defrosting and reheating food as well as sterilizing items. Its square shape without a handle allows for easy storage, even in kitchens with limited space. The sight glass lid permits observation of the cooking process at any time. With this versatile kitchen helper, you can not only cook vegetables tenderly but also prepare Asian dumplings, chicken or fish fillets, and much more. Frozen foods can be conveniently defrosted, and leftovers can be gently reheated. The steamer is also ideal for sterilizing pacifiers, jars, and other items. So easy: fill the steamer with enough water and place the food on the steam insert so that it does not lie in the water. Put the lid on and reduce the temperature once the water boils. Keep the steamer closed during cooking to prevent the steam from escaping and condensing on the lid. This keeps the foods juicy and tender and no energy is wasted. For protection from hot steam when opening the lid, pot holders should always be used. The enamel base of the steam cooker is heat resistant up to 450 °C.
Before first use: Remove the sticker, fill with boiling water and vinegar, and let it sit for a short time.
Enamel is easy to clean thanks to its smooth, non-porous glass surface – and it inhibits bacterial growth.
- After cooking and emptying, fill the still-warm cookware with warm – never cold – water and dish soap. After a short soaking period, the cookware can be cleaned effortlessly.
- For particularly stubborn or burnt-on residues, briefly boil water with dish soap.
- For cleaning, use RIESS enamel care or a mild scouring milk, along with the smooth side of a sponge or a soft brush.
- Avoid using wire brushes, steel wool, abrasive powders containing sand, or sponges with ceramic particles.
- Store the cookware well dried. Any lime stains can be easily removed with vinegar water.
- If flash rust appears on exposed enamel edges or the rim, it can be easily removed with dish soap.
- Exposed enamel edges can be re-oiled from time to time with cooking oil.
