Description
Our 3-part universal steamer can replace our smaller steamer. Not only can it be used to cook potatoes, but it can also be used for vegetables, Asian-style dumplings, fish or meat. Steaming allows you to preserve many of the food’s vitamins and nutrients during the cooking process. The hot steam prevents the ingredients from leaching or drying out. The food remains in its natural state which means that the flavours are more intense. You also don’t need to add as much fat, salt or spices as the natural flavour of the ingredients is preserved.
The universal steamer can also be used to defrost and heat up food.
The steamer has a diameter of 22 cm and has space for approx. 2 kg of potatoes, which you place in the perforated pot attachment. The water used to cook is put in the bottom part of the steamer. The pot attachment with the potatoes is then placed on top. Now, with the lid closed, bring the water to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. You can keep an eye on the food being cooked through the glass lid and adjust the heat as needed.
Enamel is made from iron that was fused with glass at high temperatures, therefore it’s made from natural raw materials. Our enamel cookware is suitable for use with all types of cookers (gas, electric, ceramic, induction and even open flame). Thanks to the iron core, the heat is conducted quickly and is then retained. This ensures sustainable, energy-efficient cooking.
The non-porous, smooth, glass surface guarantees perfect hygiene, as it’s flavour-neutral, prevents bacteria growth and is easy to clean. When used and cared for properly, our enamel cookware can provide years of cooking enjoyment and will maintain its characteristic glossy appearance.
Use:
The universal steamer is not only suitable for gently cooking potatoes or vegetables, it can also be used to cook Asian-style dumplings, chicken or fish fillets. It’s also great for defrosting deep-frozen foods.
The pot attachment is also great to use as a vegetable colander for washing the potatoes. When the top pot attachment is not added, the bottom part can also be used as a normal cooking pot.
Tips
Always keep the lid of the steamer closed during the cooking process so that the steam does not escape but condenses on the lid instead.
Wait until the water is no longer boiling before opening the lid to avoid being scalded by the steam and always remember to use pot holders.
Our potato pot, which comes in black or white, is ideal for cooking smaller quantities of potatoes (up to 1 kg) or vegetables.
